What it takes to join Guildry
Guildry brings you work and stands behind it, so what we check before you start is real. Here’s what you’ll need ready, and what we verify. The whole signup takes about 15 minutes, and insurance papers you don’t have on hand can be added later.
Requirements
Council reviews each application, usually within one business day.
Stripe identity verification
Provide your SSN or EIN and bank account through Stripe Connect Express. Stripe (not Guildry) verifies your identity and holds those values securely. Required so Guildry can pay you, and Guildry, through Stripe, sends any tax form the law requires. Stripe may also ask for a business website — if you don’t have one, a social media profile (Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, Google Business) works.
Insurance and workers’ comp
Liability insurance and workers’ comp proof are both required. Workers’ comp proof is a certificate, or a signed statement if you have no employees. You can finish signing up without them and add them later in your Profile, but you can’t send quotes or invoices until your insurance is verified and your workers’ comp proof is on file. A license or bond is needed only if your trade requires one by law.
Phoenix metro service area
Guildry serves the Phoenix, Arizona metro area. You pick where you work on a map, by distance from your ZIP code or by region, and you only receive work inside it.
Listed service category
Pick one or more of our curated service categories — the common home and property trades, from house cleaning and landscaping through handyman work, painting and moving. You’ll see the full list when you sign up. If the work you do isn’t covered, contact us — we may add a category.
Pass our duplicate-identity check
We hash and check your SSN/EIN, bank account, and insurance policy against a banned-identities list to prevent re-onboarding after a prior account was closed for cause. Most providers pass this automatically.
An invite code
Signing up takes a code from Guildry. We invite providers as demand comes in for the work they do, so the invitation usually arrives with a job attached. If you want to be on the list, get in touch.
The signup wizard, step by step
Once you have an invite code, the wizard walks you through seven steps:
- Account. Your name, phone number and email. We text a code to confirm the phone.
- Business. Business name, business type, and whether you work alone or with a team.
- Services. Pick the services you offer.
- Where you work. Pick your area on a map, by distance from your ZIP code or by region, then tap any ZIP code to add or remove it.
- Insurance. Add your liability insurance and workers’ comp proof, and a license or bond if your trade needs one. You can add them later, but you can’t send quotes or invoices until your insurance is verified and your workers’ comp proof is on file.
- Identity. Redirect to Stripe to verify SSN/EIN and bank account.
- Review. Accept your agreements, confirm everything, then submit for Council review.
We’ll text you when your application is approved. While you wait, you can look around your dashboard: anything that needs approval shows a small lock.
What it costs
Customers you add to Guildry yourself cost you nothing. No subscription and no Guildry fee: you receive the full amount your customer pays, minus Stripe’s standard card-processing fee (~2.9% + $0.30). Customers Guildry brings you carry a Guildry fee, taken from what Guildry pays you and never billed to you. You see the fee and what you’ll receive before you take the customer on, and it never goes up without 30 days’ written notice and your OK. You never pay for a lead.
